As a child, I was always surrounded by farm animals or pets so I always hoped to one day work in a vet hospital. I enjoy helping animals and their owners to give their pet the best quality of life.
I obtained my Animal Science from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 1987 and then received my RVT designation in 2016.
In our job, we meet such a diverse group of animals each having their our personally so each encounter is different. Our job is never boring as no two days are the same and I feel I learn something new each day. I enjoy the challenge of working in a busy clinic with very caring and hardworking staff. My favourite part of my job is working with geriatric patients. I feel we provide great care and education for our senior pets through recommending diets, supplements, pain control and dental care.
My hobbies include sailing and travelling. I enjoy spending time with family and friends in Cape Breton and hope to retire there one day.
