Keep your canine companion protected with a vaccination plan.
Primary vaccination is essential to prevent the once-common puppyhood diseases, that caused high levels of fatality, from returning. Newborn puppies have not yet had a chance to make their immunity, so they need protection against infections present in their environment. Our Veterinarians can provide protection with vaccines that prime the immune system leading to overall good health for your puppy. Our hospital protocol is to provide this priming protection with vaccines at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age.
Fairview Animal Hospital offers Canine distemper virus, parvovirus, adenovirus-2 and parainfluenza vaccine, Rabies, and Bordetella Bronchiseptica (Kennel Cough) vaccines for your puppy. Risk assessment for Lyme disease and leptospirosis infection are also discussed and may be suggested given your puppy’s risk of exposure.

We encourage you to bring your puppy in for physical exam and vaccine risk assessment at 8 weeks of age.
It is recommended that your puppy not have contact with other puppies or dogs until after the second set of vaccines. We suggest you limit the amount of contact with other dogs or if possible, carry your puppy when visiting our hospital. We recommend bringing your puppy’s favourite treat or toy so that we can provide a positive experience while your puppy is at our hospital.
